Schengen visa: Do my dates need to match perfectly?

Hi all,

I’m applying for a Schengen visa, and I’m a bit worried because I just noticed a small discrepancy between my itinerary, hotel bookings, and travel insurance dates. My flight dates are from June 10th to June 25th. However, my hotel bookings are from June 10th to June 24th, and my insurance is valid from June 9th to June 26th. I know, it’s a mess! I booked everything separately, and it seems I wasn’t as careful as I should have been to ensure everything lined up perfectly. I’m travelling to multiple countries, and I booked hotels across different sites – lesson learned.

Could this be a problem for my visa application? Will this minor inconsistency lead to a rejection? Has anyone experienced something similar? I’d really appreciate any advice or insights.

For a Schengen visa, small mismatches won’t auto-reject you, but they raise consistency doubts.

Your case:

  • Flights: 10–25 June

  • Hotels: 10–24 June → :red_exclamation_mark: missing last night

  • Insurance: 9–26 June → :white_check_mark: actually good (covers buffer)

What to do:

  • Fix the hotel → add night of 24–25 June (or adjust flight if needed)

  • Make all dates fully align

It’s a minor issue, but if left as-is, it can be used against you under “conditions of stay not reliable.” Easy fix now → avoids unnecessary risk.
