Has anyone from India used the “Self-Transfer” option via Kuala Lumpur (KUL) when flying to Vietnam recently?
I am looking at a flight combination on Kiwi.com that is significantly cheaper, but it is flagged as “Self-Transfer” between AirAsia and Batik Air.
- Reliability: Do I actually have to clear immigration and re-check bags if I only have carry-on luggage?
- Friction: Will the airline in Mumbai deny boarding if I don’t have a Malaysian visa, even if I don’t plan to leave the terminal?
- Rejection Reasons: Has anyone faced issues with “point-to-point” ticket validation at the check-in counter?
