Reliability of premium appointment services for Schengen visa applications from non-EU countries

Has anyone from North Africa or the Middle East used the new ‘premium’ consolidated appointment service for Schengen visas?

Context: I’m planning a historical tour group to Italy and France for later this year. I keep hearing conflicting reports here in Cairo about whether the premium service actually guarantees an earlier slot or if it’s just marketing fluff.

The Drill-Down:

  • Reliability: Does the service actually unlock hidden slots, or are you just paying for a lounge with coffee?
  • Friction: Has anyone faced issues where the “guaranteed” timeframe was ignored by the consulate, specifically regarding the “flight reservation validity” check?

Would love to hear real experiences before I allocate the budget for this add-on.

Realizing this is not about Russia specifically, but the backend system for the premium service is often global.

I must share my recent experience from Ankara, which was unfortunately quite negative despite using a similar service.

Thank you kindly for these detailed responses.

My experience from Lahore was a journey of patience, contrasting with the chaos you describe.

Respectfully, realizing we are discussing logistics, but I must add a note on the environment.

Taste this advise: I used the premium service in Bangkok recently! :steaming_bowl:
