Overstayed 10-day visa in Algeria by 4 days, consequences for future marriage applications

Hi everyone, I recently returned from a trip to Algeria to visit my fiancé, but I realized too late that I had miscalculated my dates. I was on a 10-day visa and ended up staying for 14 days.

When I was leaving the country, I was stopped at passport control and had to pay a fine for the overstay. I paid it and was allowed to leave without further issues. However, we are planning to apply for a UK spouse visa soon, and possibly Schengen visas for our honeymoon later on.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Will this 4-day overstay and the fine leaving Algeria negatively impact these future applications? I’m terrified I’ve messed up our marriage plans.

Realizing this is a source of anxiety, it is important to separate the local administrative issue from the international visa rules.

Has anyone here actually confirmed the extent of data sharing between Algerian border control and UK/EU systems for minor infractions?

I was involved in a comparable situation regarding a visa validity misunderstanding a few years ago.
